On September 06,2026 the South African Police Service (SAPS) honoured 12 officers who lost their lives while serving and protecting communities.
The annual SAPS Commemoration Day was held at the SAPS Memorial Site at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, with President Cyril Ramaphosa officiating.
Acting Police Minister Professor Firoz Cachalia, Acting National Commissioner Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, senior police officials, government representatives, law enforcement agencies and families of the fallen attended the ceremony.
SAPS members paid their final respects with a ceremonial salute, while police trainees also joined the event to honour the fallen officers.
