The City of Johannesburg Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has urged parents and caregivers to closely supervise young children and keep them away from dams and river streams to prevent drowning incidents.
EMS is encouraging children to use municipal public swimming pools across the Cityβs seven regions, where lifeguards are available to monitor swimmers.
Residents are reminded to prioritise water safety, especially when children are playing near water, to help prevent avoidable drowning incidents.
