(Members of Eldorado Park SAPS, the Vispol Support Unit, have arrested an alleged suspect for illegal dealing in liquor.
At approximately 12:00, members were patrolling Freedom Park when they received information from an anonymous source about a tavern allegedly selling liquor without documentation.
Police proceeded to a premises in Freedom Park where, on arrival, the owner was found serving customers. When asked to produce a valid liquor licence or permit to sell alcohol, he failed to do so.
The alleged suspect was arrested for dealing in liquor without a licence in terms of the Liquor Act.
The estimated value of the alcohol confiscated by the police amounts to approximately R75 000.
He is expected to appear in court soon.
The Station Commander of Eldorado Park SAPS, Brigadier Maluleke, commended the members for their swift response and thanked the community for providing valuable information.
The SAPS continues to urge communities to report illegal activities.
