The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed that the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final draw will take place live on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, at Chatsworth Stadium in Durban, immediately after the Last 16 fixture between Durban City FC and Stellenbosch FC.
The draw will determine the four quarter-final matchups as the competition enters a crucial stage, with the remaining teams hoping to move one step closer to lifting the prestigious domestic cup trophy.
According to the PSL’s media advisory issued on Monday, 26 October, the quarter-final draw will follow a seeded format in line with the tournament’s rules. The four clubs that finished highest in the previous season’s Premiership standings will be seeded, while the remaining four teams will be unseeded.

Three draw pots will be used to determine the fixtures: Pot A, Pot B and Pot C.
Pot A will contain the names of the four seeded clubs, while Pot C will hold the names of the four unseeded teams. Pot B will initially be empty and will be used to determine the home and away teams for each quarter-final fixture.
During the draw, a ball will first be selected from Pot A and placed unopened into Pot B. A ball will then be drawn from Pot C and added to Pot B. The first ball drawn from Pot B will determine the home team, while the second ball will determine the away team.
This process will be repeated until all four quarter-final fixtures have been confirmed.

The draw is expected to generate considerable interest among supporters, with clubs set to discover their opponents and the challenge standing between them and a place in the semi-finals.
The seeded format provides a structured approach to the draw, but the outcome will ultimately determine the matchups and the challenges each team will face in the next round.

Before the quarter-final fixtures can be finalised, attention will turn to Wednesday’s Last 16 encounter between Durban City FC and Stellenbosch FC, which will take place ahead of the live draw at Chatsworth Stadium.
With a place in the quarter-finals at stake, the fixture will complete the round of 16 and establish the final line-up for the next phase of the competition.
The Carling Knockout Cup continues to offer clubs an opportunity to compete for silverware, with the quarter-final draw marking another important step towards determining this season’s eventual champions.
