The Gauteng Provincial Government will host a Tswa Daar registration drive on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, to assist people struggling with drug and alcohol abuse.
The initiative will run from 09:00 to 14:00 at various sites across Gauteng, offering registration, screening and assessments to help identify appropriate treatment and support services.
Residents are encouraged to bring a loved one, partner, sibling, relative or friend who may be battling substance abuse.
In Johannesburg, registration sites include Diepkloof Hall in Soweto, Alexandra Multipurpose Hall, Ivory Park North Hall and Albertus POP Centre in Eldorado Park.
Other sites will operate across Tshwane, Ekurhuleni, the West Rand and Sedibeng.
The campaign also encourages families to support loved ones battling addiction, emphasising recovery through support rather than judgement.
For assistance, residents can contact the Gauteng substance abuse helpline on 0800 22 88 27 or email support@gaauteng.gov.za.
